Victory Ranch Inc. Starts Winter Kids & Horses Program
Victory Ranch Inc. Partners with Santa Clara County Foster & Adoptive Parents Association (SCCFAPA), Santa Clara County Social Services, and Today’s Youth Matters Kids
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA—February 6, 2008—Victory Ranch Inc., SCCFAPA, Santa Clara County Social Services, and TYMKids.org have teamed up to provide an innovative equine Kids & Horses Program that unites foster and adopted kids and other disadvantaged youth with the magical therapy of horses and ponies. This is an educational opportunity for these kids to learn the basics of horses and horsemanship that includes riding. The Kids & Horses Program runs from Tuesday, February 5, and continues through mid-March. “We plan to have two groups of six kids participate in the program”, comments Doug Hutten, Founder of Victory Ranch Inc., “and plans are to expand our operations to San Mateo County this Spring to be able to reach out to more kids”.
Kids & Horses Program
Victory Ranch provides sessions with friendly horses and ponies that are fun, safe and unique for the whole family. Kids learn about their four-legged friends – what they eat, how they communicate, and why they are special. The goal for the participants is to also to learn how to ride. Kids and their families experience the loving connection these playful ponies and horses provide. Smiles, laughter and glee are the welcomed results of this happy, healing and rewarding outdoor experience, a breath of fresh air from the children’s daily routines.
Set in an environment of experienced equine practitioners and a staff of professional volunteers, combined with the wisdom and patience of the horses themselves, this ground-breaking equestrian program leaves the students with improved communication skills, renewed self-confidence, and a transformed sense of self-confidence… rewards that leave a lifetime impression with these challenged youth. Best of all, there is no charge to these students.
