Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Victory Ranch at times offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)
sessions. EAP uses experiential learning. Contact us for session availability. Experiential learning means learning
by doing. Staff members are certified EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth &
Learning Association) specialists. The EAGALA Model is a standard for
conducting EAP that uses a team of qualified mental health/clinical
professionals and qualified equine specialist professionals. EAGALA sessions
are done on the ground with horses; no mounted work is involved. EAP can be powerfully effective in helping patients break through hidden
defensive barriers and provide fresh perspectives for clients. EAP sessions can
clarify real-life situations and identify patterns, then help participants work
through them. Horses are masters at relationships. They are experts at
non-verbal communication and reading our body language. Horses don't lie; they
don't separate how they feel from how they act.
We welcome children and their parents, adults, couples, groups and families
to our programs. Please contact us for more information, or to speak to our
Therapists.
